One of the most powerful and vile characters ever written by Sidney Sheldon is that of Constantin Demeris. He is a Greek oil tycoon who is one of the richest men in the world. He has come up in life thanks to his crafty and manipulative personality. He speaks less and schemes more. Though his character comes up in the later half of Sidney Sheldon’s novel ‘The Other Side of Midnight’ his character becomes omnipresent and unforgiving as he sends his mistress Noelle Page and her lover Larry Page to death for lying to him. They are sent to their grave by an act of connivance on the part of Mr.Demeris.

Constantin Demeris emerges once again in the ‘Memories of Midnight’(sequel to The Other Side of Midnight) with his dark past of the death of his mistress haunting him. Neverthless, he continues to be smoothly ruthless, removing everyone out of his way to power, but finally falls to an abrupt death at end of the novel.
